Dr. Kaboyaone Hiri-Khudu is the Acting Director of Office of International Education and Partnerships (OIEP) at the University of Botswana. Dr. Hiri-Khudu has PhD in Social Work, master’s in social work (Social Policy) and another master’s in counseling and Human Services all attained from University of Botswana (UB). Dr. Hiri-Khudu joined OIEP in March 2012 as the Deputy Director and has worked as a student welfare manager of both local and international students. She oversees student exchanges (inbound and outbound) and has worked with various organization on higher education such as International Student exchange Program (ISEP) based in Washington DC where she was a member of the Council of Advisors. Dr. Hiri-Khudu has also worked and continues to engage with the Council of International Education and Exchange (CIEE) based in Oregon USA, Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) based in Chicago USA. The international engagement has resulted in her presenting in various conferences such as the Stellenbosch International African Network (SIAN) and SANORD (Norwegian and Southern African Universities partnership) consortiums where University of Botswana is a member. Dr. Hiri-Khudu manages group study abroad at University of Botswana with UB global partners from USA, Asia, South America, Europe and Africa which involves orientation (welcome and predeparture), training and workshops, excursions and this has resulted in her forming part of the ERASMUS Intra-ACP project as an administrator in the implementation of both METEGA (Mobility to Enhance Training of Engineering Graduates in Africa) and TRECCA (Transdisciplinary Training for Resources Efficiency and Climate Adaptation in Africa) projects. Dr. Hiri-Khudu has amassed expertise and knowledge of internationalization activities through attending conferences and workshops on internationalization such as NAFSA, EIAE, and SIAN. Dr. Hiri-Khudu serves in various UB committees and is in University of Botswana.
