Engr. Professor Malik ABDULWAHAB has a combination of multifaceted experience in Metallurgical, Materials and Production Engineering; he holds a PhD degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Currently, he is a Professor and Head of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department, Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna, Nigeria. He has served/serving in various Institution’s committees. Professor Abdulwahab is presently the Editor-in-Chief AFIT Journal of Science and Engineering Research and Associate Editor to many journals. His area of research interest include: Materials Development and Corrosion Engineering- Alloy design, development and processing, mechanical and corrosion characteristics of aluminium and titanium alloys, materials performance and structural integrity, triboxidation processing, electrochemical study of thermally treated metals and alloys, microstructural morphology/evolution, biomaterials, Aerospace/space shuttle materials, Additive manufacturing and Laser Technology. In these areas, Professor ABDULWAHAB has published over one hundred and seventy-two (174) local and international journal and conference proceedings with over 1185 Google Scholar Citations (h-index 19 and i10-index 38). He has attended and presented more than Ten (10) seminar papers and two (2) lead paper presentations. Equally, he had supervised/supervising: sixteen (16) MSc and fifteen (15) PhD both locally and internationally with evidence of Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Institutional Award of Tshwane University of Technology, Pretoria, South Africa. Prof ABDULWAHAB has a Patent to his credit with many grants award. He was an external assessor to Postgraduate School, Department of Chemical, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Tshwane University of Technology, Pretoria, South Africa. He has served/serving as external assessor to some Universities and Polytechnics. Prof. ABDULWAHAB is a registered Metallurgical Engineer by COREN and member of many academic and professional societies. He is married with children.
