Dr Innocent Okwudili Eya is an Astrophysicist. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Physics and Astronomy – 2006, and M.Sc. degree in Space Science – 2012, and a PhD – 2017 in Astrophysics, all from the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. In 2013 he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, Nigeria. In 2012, he was privileged to attend the 34th International School for Young Astronomers (ISYA) held in South Africa at the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO). He is a lecturer and a researcher in the Department of Science Laboratory Technology (Physics/Electronics technique), Faculty of Physical Sciences, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria, where he teaches undergraduate physics courses. He coordinates the Physics/Electronics Techniques of the department, where he reports directly to the Head of the Department. Innocent is a member of international consortia/collaborations such as the Pan African Planetary and Space Science Network (PAPSSN) and the Focus on Africa Space Science and Technology for Future Development (FAST4Future). He is a Consortium Board member in PAPSSN and FAST4Future and the University of Nigeria Nsukka Local Contact Person for both organizations. He is also a member of professional bodies such as the Astronomical Society of Nigeria and the African Astronomical Society, and the Nigeria Institute of Management. His research interests are in the Astrophysics of Compact Objects: Pulsar Timing – Pulsar Glitches and Timing Noise, Extragalactic Radio Sources: AGN – Unification and Characterization, High Energy Particles: Cosmic ray counts – Forbush decreases. He equally has interest in Cultural Astronomy. Dr Innocent is an African of Igbo extraction in South-East Nigeria whose sole mission is to make the world a better place than he met it.
